Young Soo Jo worked at Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts for over 10 years before the program joined with Western Massachusetts Legal Services to form Community Legal Aid in 2011. Young Soo works as a Senior Attorney in the Benefits Unit, handling welfare matters, consumer and disability rights issues, and MassHealth cases. In 2002 Young Soo received LACCM's Advocate of the Year award at the Worcester County Bar Association's Equal Justice reception. In 2005, he was appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court to the statewide Access to Justice Commission, created to improve the delivery of legal services to low-income communities in Massachusetts. Young Soo was reappointed to the Access to Justice Commission for a three-year term in 2006. Young Soo has conducted trainings in benefits advocacy and basic legal skills for Legal Aid University. He is fluent in Korean. Before coming to CLA, Young Soo interned at Greater Boston Legal Services and The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights. Young Soo is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and the U.S. District of Massachusetts.
